General Cable and Panduit Price Increases

Price Increase Alert

With the New Year, will come several manufacturer price increases.

Last week, we let you know about the 2-4% increase on Belden wire and cable, effective January 1, 2013. Since then, additional increases have been announced.

On January 1, 2013, General Cable will raise prices on select Carol cord products up to 5%. Certain products, including the recently-launched EXZELTM line will not be affected. General explains that these increases are due to the rising costs of materials such as HDPE, plasticizers, Neoprene, carbon black, FEP, polypropylene, packaging, and more.

Panduit has also announced a price increase for select product groups, effective February 1, 2013. The planned 4% increase will apply to racks, cable management, zone cabling, terminal, and Reel Smart products.

We will continue to update our price increase information as we learn more. To make sure you never miss an important Price Increase Alert, sign up to follow our blog.
