Help Allied’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts for FDNY Firefighters

Hundreds of homes were destroyed by fires and flooding when Hurricane Sandy hit the Rockaway – Breezy Point area of New York. Among these homes were those of more than 100 members of FDNY Battalion 47.

On November 7th, we received an email from Gary O’Hal, a firefighter from Battalion 47, requesting a donation of 10/4 SOW cord to connect donated generators they had received. Allied Wire & Cable was more than happy to supply them with lengths of the SOW cord, but didn’t want to stop there.

These firefighters risk their lives every day to help others, but don’t spend much time asking for help themselves. These families have lost their personal possessions, their homes – everything, but as first-responders, are still taking care of others affected by the storm before they can even secure their own families and belongings. Now is our chance to give a little back to the men and women who do so much for everyone else.

Allied Wire & Cable is collecting supplies to send to the firefighters of Battalion 47, their families, and their communities that have been devastated by the storm. If you are in the Collegeville, PA area, and would like to drop off a donation, no amount of supplies is too small. We will be collecting until noon on Friday, November 16th. Allied Wire & Cable will pay to ship everything up to New York.

For more information, and a complete list of supplies they need, please visit of their listed items, including flammable liquids cannot be shipped, so please use your discretion when purchasing from this list.

Monetary donations are also especially needed at this time, and are a great opportunity to help if you are outside of the Collegeville area. You can make a donation online at, or send a check to the address listed on their fundraising page.

Please join Allied Wire & Cable in helping these heroes recover from Hurricane Sandy.
