It’s always a joy to receive updates about charitable efforts. It’s nice to hear where your donations went, and specifically how your money helped someone less fortunate. That’s why we love getting letters from Make-A-Wish, and why we love sharing them with you! Without you, we wouldn’t be able to donate to this wonderful organization as much as we do, so these letters belong to you as much as they belong to us.

We received our most recent update letter last week, with details on two wishes that we made come true:

The first wish granted was to a little girl who is 8-years-old: Her wish was to visit Disney World. According to Make-A-Wish, 43% of kids wish to go to Disney. Not only did she get to go, she got to stay in a private villa with her entire family! They enjoyed free admission to all the parks, meals at a gingerbread house themed restaurant, an ice cream palace and endless activities and gifts. Make-A-Wish covers all expenses, including limo rides, car rentals, air fare, food, accommodations, free passes, spending money for each family member on the trip and a backpack full of goodies for the wish child.

The second wish granted was to a little boy, aged 9: His wish was for a shopping spree. Make-A-Wish estimates that 11% of children choose a shopping spree for their wish. This wish experience includes their family members, who get to join the wish child at the mall for four hours of shopping. A Make-A-Wish volunteer is with the family the entire time. They receive a generous amount of spending money and a lunch or dinner for everyone after they worked up an appetite shopping. Make-A-Wish covers all expenses, including the spending money, a limo ride to and from the mall and the meal. He chose many toys with his money, including a new bike, scooter and a toy puppet.

Thank you so much for helping us with our various charitable efforts throughout the year. Your loyalty and support makes it possible to help children like these each and every year.
