More Price Increases as Copper Reaches Record Highs

The price of copper continues to rise, reaching a record high $4.41 on the Camden Copper Index. Silver and Tin prices have also continued to rise, with tin reaching its highest point in 4 years.

Manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the increasing cost of raw materials, and have begun raising prices to compensate. We have received three new price increases that will be effective in the coming weeks:

  • General Cable – 5-7% Increase on all Products, Effective December 20th, 2010
  • Belden Cable – Increase Effective January 3rd, 2011
  • Tyco Electronics – Increase Effective January 1st, 2011

Check out our Copper Survival Guide for more information on how to cope with the rising prices.
