AWC Wishes Skip Bjorkman the Best of Luck in his Retirement!

After more than 30 years of experience in the wire and cable industry, working for companies such as Anixter and Priority, Skip Bjorkman proved to be an incredible member of the Allied Wire & Cable family. Skip joined Allied in March of 2011, as the Sales Manager of AWC’s Western Division in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He played an instrumental role in getting the branch up and running, and his limitless product knowledge, willingness to help his coworkers, and dedication to his customers are just a few of the traits we can all admire in Skip.
When he first began at Allied, Skip said, “My family has been in the wire and cable industry since the early seventies and still are today. I am happy and excited to finish out my career with a great family-owned company like Allied Wire and Cable.”
And we couldn’t have been happier to have him. Now heading into retirement, Skip will have more time to do some of his favorite things: gardening with his wife, Roxanne, and jumping in the pool. He’ll also have more time to spend with his 5 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
We wish Skip the absolute best with everything he does in the future, and can’t thank him enough for the time he’s spent with us at Allied Wire & Cable.
His co-workers say goodbye…
Skip’s a true wire and cable professional – a fantastic knowledge of the product and its uses, and a guy that gets it that the customer and customer service come first. – Chris B.
Skip, thanks for all the guidance over the years. I’ve called on your experience and help more than I would like to admit, but want you to know I’ve always appreciated your friendship the most. Enjoy your retirement, and stay in touch. – Dana E.
In the short time I have had the pleasure to work with Skip it is easy to see just why he is such a respected and valued person in the wire and cable industry. His knowledge is second to none and his willingness to go out of his way to assist not only customers but his colleagues sets him apart from everyone else. He is truly a valued treasure in the industry and to our company and will be sorely missed. I wish you, Skip all the best and thank you for all your efforts and contributions, not only to Allied, but to myself and my further growth in this industry. I will definitely keep in contact and continue to use you as a resource, but I will try not to disturb your “pool-time” too much. Thank you again and enjoy your retirement!! – Don H.
Hey Skip, thanks for the memories, which may have included, the early days with Roxanne in Arizona and Robert in Texas, Wednesday chicken tacos, a sip of eggnog, the humming of the air conditioner in your office, Friday Night Bingo, Robert (my husband) traveling stories, NOTE is spelled NOTE, instead of NOT…and many many many more. You have taught me a great deal in such a short time, we have been through a lot together in a year, and I will miss you more than you will ever know. P.S. When’s the pool party, and don’t forget you owe me a Lunch Bingo date. – Chantay W.
Working with Skip has been a real honor. His patience and guidance has been worth more than words to a “newbie” such as myself. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a Wire Master and can’t thank him enough for sharing his knowledge with us. I wish him well in his future endeavors and I’m sure we will be hearing all about his new adventures! You will be missed tremendously! – Kristy V.
